Mens overnight bag, made from Parachute stowage bag, ex RAF
Description
Bomber Jacket Bag
Reworked from flight gear. Built for everyday carry.
A utility bag made from reclaimed bomber jackets — repurposing durable, functional materials into a practical, everyday piece.
The original garments were designed for toughness, warmth and movement. Reworked into a bag, those same qualities carry through: lightweight, hard-wearing, and built for regular use. ONLY one left, please message prior to purchase please.
Materials & Construction
Each bag is cut from genuine reclaimed bomber jackets, making use of existing structure, stitching and fabric strength.
Details from the original garment — pockets, panels, textures — are often retained or reinterpreted, giving each piece its own character.
Reinforced where needed and finished by hand in the workshop.

Variations in fabric, wear, and original garment details mean no two are identical. Signs of previous use are part of the material’s history — not flaws.

Built to be used
This is a practical piece with a second life — made to be carried, used, and worn in over time.
1975 RAF Parachute Stowage Bag One of Four Hand-Reworked Overnight Bag & Pouch
In 1975, a small batch of heavy-duty stowage parachute bags was issued for RAF use, believed to be destined for Barracuda jets operating at the time. Designed for load, abrasion and reliability, these bags were never intended for civilian ownership or reuse.
Fifty years later, four of those bags remain.
This piece is one of four carefully reworked by hand into a functional overnight bag with matching toiletry pouch. Original markings, patina and wear have been preserved wherever possible. No two are the same. No further examples will be made.
Two of the four pieces are accompanied by original documentation, including the original transport box and correspondence addressed to the Commandant at RAF Headquarters.
These details are not decorative they are evidence.
My role was not to redesign the original object, but to translate it for modern use, adding reinforcement and structure only where required.
Each bag is supplied with a numbered Certificate of Provenance.
Only four exist. Once placed, this story closes.
