Tough Tote

Built to carry the load.

This started out of frustration — “bags for life” that couldn’t handle real weight.

So I made one that could.

First for my mum, then for neighbours… and it grew from there. These have now been tested properly, with over 20 in use — built to carry serious loads without failing.

Materials & Construction

Made using triple-layered waxed cotton for strength and durability, with a linen lining for structure and finish.

The 50mm webbing strap runs continuously under the bag, taking the full load rather than relying on stitched-on handles. It’s cross-stitched and reinforced, with additional diagonal stitching through the base for extra strength where it matters most.

Tested to carry 45kg comfortably — and pushed beyond that to around 60kg.
